Family Night: Chuck E. Cheese

Well, we braved the over-stimulating wonderland of Chuck E. Cheese this past week for our family night. I was a little nervous about it because Rachel is usually so quiet and home-loving that I thought she would be so stimulated she would get fussy. Boy, did she surprise me! She LOVED everything and both girls had a wonderful time! This was a bit risky since it is about an hour drive for us each way.

I found some coupons that were a good deal and we all played for two hours. We had so many tokens left over at the end (since Emily and Rachel played on the free stuff mostly) that David and I got to play our favorite, Skee-Ball! A highlight for Emily was the Veggie Tales silly song that played over the video monitors! We picked out a couple of fun prizes with our tickets and were ready to call it a night. In the end, a good time was had by all and we all slept well that night!

So, who of you remember going to Show Biz pizza as a child? What was your favorite thing to do there?

We are lucky enough to live about 5 minutes from a Chuck E Cheese. Many people don't know that it opens at 9am - we often go in the morning before the lunch crowd and have the place all to ourselves! I purchase 100 tokens with the $12.50 coupon and that lasts us two visits, then I take along snacks instead of purchasing the pizza. We invested in the kids refill cups for all of us and bring them back for free refills each time. I think I enjoy going just as much as my kids - it is always a fun treat. Such a fun place to go, just not when it is really crowded! I always like that they play the Veggie Tales too!

Your are brave for trying out Chuck E Cheese! There are so many fun things we can do when Megan is a little older. Glad you had a fun evening.

So glad Rachel loved it! I'm with you on the Skee-ball, of course. And their marketing strategy worked: I always wanted enough tickets to procure one of their junky plastic prizes!

Show Biz pizza-haven't heard that name in a LONG time! I think someone had a birthday party there a LONG time ago...So long ago I don't remember whose party it was. I will have to check out what coupons you found because the last time we went it cost well over $30!! Elise

I loved the band playing while we ate pizza. :)

You are such a fun mom! I have yet to take the kids to Chuck E. Cheese. I would love to do it sometime though and will have to keep that in mind for a future family night!

I'm glad a good time was had by all! Wish we had done this while you were here -- maybe next time!
