Corn:

Updated to add: I just went out and pulled weeds and planted a row of Marigolds across the front of the garden. Marigolds help keep bugs out! Also, you can dry the flowers and save the seeds from year to year! I had a ziploc full of seeds from my Mom's marigolds - looks like it could rain, I so hope it does! And, I'm hoping to get one more row of green beans in before we go out of town!

Dear Monica:
Isn't it exciting to see those tender shoots sprouting out of the ground?? Just think how far ahead of us you are -- we won't be able to plant for another month!
Love, Mom
On the marigolds: I always let mine die off naturally each year, and they reseed themselves. My marigold patch has become denser and fuller every year, with very little tending on my part - always a plus for this gardener!
Monica, I just cleaned out the winter mess in my garden so the tulips can come through (they come up late in Wyoming). Today it snowed. :)
