I have started these recipe collections for Emily and Rachel. I started this idea with the recipe box when Emily was born and then pulled the recipe book out of my gift stash when Rachel was born. I add one recipe around Christmas each year and date it. Then, they will have a collection of favorite family recipes and hopefully it will be special to them that they have been written through the years rather than in one big marathon recipe-writing-session! Both of these were items I already had that I was not using, so this did not cost anything to begin.

Recipe Books
I have started these recipe collections for Emily and Rachel. I started this idea with the recipe box when Emily was born and then pulled the recipe book out of my gift stash when Rachel was born. Such a great idea! This will be such a meaninful gift for your girls.
What a wonderful idea! My mother, sister, and aunts gave me a recipe box chock full of family favorites (hand written, by the way) as a wedding shower gift. It remains one of my most treasured possessions.
We are doing that too. I actually started a Christmas journal and I am including three of their favorite recipes each year in the book. I will have to either rewrite all of it for Emily or make them duke it out when they get older ;)
