I make piles of things that need to go upstairs or to the basement, so that I am concentrating on one floor at a time.
I wish I would feel more comfortable inviting others over for a meal. Sure, I may use it at some point in time.....long down the road, but if it's just cluttering up things for now, what's the point in keeping it?

Then I take a garbage bag and literally throw said clutter away. If it's bills or something (that I can't throw away, but wish I could!), they get filed. So much stuff that is "clutter" is actually junk! (Treat bags from bday parties anyone?!?)

I have a rubbermaid storage container in my garage that is used to hold things that will be donated and when it gets full, we make a trip to goodwill. So I don't throw away things others could use, but really, so much of our clutter is totally unnecessary stuff.

Having a place to put the clutter (trash or donate) rather than having to find a place for it makes it so much easier to move it on out.Beckyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17915628046228946737noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13617895.post-82387957488295077922011-03-29T16:17:02.312-04:002011-03-29T16:17:02.312-04:00It looks beautifulIt looks beautifulBlissful & Domestichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05725781323332766843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13617895.post-36370704387519335082011-03-29T15:49:23.704-04:002011-03-29T15:49:23.704-04:00You know me, I clean as I go. I have a bad habit of piling things on it to "deal with" when I am sitting on the couch.
Paperwork, mail, ads etc are a major problem for me. I just let it pile up until I am overwhelmed.
I am trying something new - before brining it to the coffee table I go to the kitchen and throw away the junk before I can let it pile up. It's only been a few weeks since I started this but I like it! Well see if it continues.

Having people over is a great way to motivate me to clean the bathrooms...I detest cleaning bathrooms!

Thank you for your encouragement!
Jenny GoldsbyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13617895.post-14110655914167570452011-03-29T09:21:27.039-04:002011-03-29T09:21:27.039-04:00I've been reading your blog for a while now bu...I've been reading your blog for a while now but I guess I missed that you are consultant for Blessings!

I just signed on and I'm so excited! Funny but it works. When I get to de-clutter a room, I have 3 HUGE bags with me. One is marked TRASH, one KEEP, and one GIVE. I spend 15 minutes just filling the bags as fast as I can so I don't have time to change my mind. The TRASH bag gets empty right away. The GIVE bag gets puts in the car right away and KEEP bag gets put back in the room I just did and the room looks all clean and fresh.LynnMariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00638947118932466226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13617895.post-61052169325130383172011-03-29T06:20:29.246-04:002011-03-29T06:20:29.246-04:00I'm a "no clutter" freak...here are ...I'm a "no clutter" freak...here are two things that works for me, especially in the kitchen (where clutter tends to descend the most!)...its the 10 rule...if things are getting "out of control", I stop and put 10 things away...just 10, but the rule is... they must be completely dealt with...either stored, "filled out and sent"--because most clutter is paper in some way, or "trashed"...
For bigger jobs, I do the 20 minute rule; set the timer, for 20 minutes, and do nothing but declutter for 20 minutes...these 2 trules, have a made a huge difference!
your house looks so cute, by the the way!!☺Leannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01976256840483823480noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13617895.post-40217850374422360512011-03-29T06:20:15.375-04:002011-03-29T06:20:15.375-04:00It's funny how inviting company forces us to d...It's funny how inviting company forces us to declutter.
