One Wintry Night Review & Giveaway!

This lovely book, One Wintry Night, was waiting for me when I arrived at my parents house recently. I received a copy of the book as part of the Tommy Mommy program via Thomas Nelson publishers! I'm always excited to read a new Christmas book and this one has been a lovely read ~

We haven't read it all in one sitting as it is quite lengthy especially for the age range of 4-7 listed with the book. But, it certainly is worth the read even in multiple sessions. The illustrations are beautifully done!

The story is beautifully done as well and since my Dad was sitting and listening in he said I could tell you how much he loved it as well! The Gospel is clearly presented as well as why we needed Christmas in the first place beginning in the Garden of Eden with the first sin and separation from God.

You can check out the flip book here.

This book will make a great addition to our Christmas books and I hope you'll get a chance to read it too!

One of you will win a copy by leaving a comment on this post letting me know what Christmas story you look forward to hearing each year!

Comments will be accepted until Thursday December 19 at 10pm Mountain Time and a winner announced after that.

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book to share about here and all opinions and thoughts are my own.

Hi there, first off let me say I love to read your blog, it is so inspiring and homey... I bless you for being such a loving mom to those lovely children you have... now on to the giveaway, I would have to say my favorite of all is the ole classic "Charles Dickens Christmas Carol" I love the movie as well.. it brings in the true meaning of christmas, not all this materialized stuff.... I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season and I will keep my fingers crossed to win this prize :)

I got it this year from the library. It would be a wonderful book to read while doing a Jesse Tree as it follows the whole Bible story from creation to Jesus' death.

We like The Christmas Story according to Luke, a book for children that has pretty illustrations to look at along with the text of the Bible. My little ones also like for me to read parts of Dicken's A Christmas Carol to them.

We love reading The Tale of Three Trees.

my very favorite book to read is
"Paul's Christmas Birthday" We got it at a yard sale when my children were young and I guess I like it so much because my birthday is near Christmas too

I like reading the Legend of the Candy, but as we add more books to our collection, I am falling in love with others too.

'Room for a Little One' is one of my favorites. But my kids have outgrown most of the Christmas picture books. So this book from Mrs. Graham sounds like it is a bit meatier. Thank you for hosting this giveaway!

We love "The Christmas Miracle of Jonathon Toomey", "A Christmas Carol" and, of course, the Biblical account in Luke 2. I would love to add "One Wintry Night" to our collection for Christmas books!

I bought the Best Christmas Pageant Ever at a school book fair over 25 years ago. I have read it every year since then. My children love to hear it as well.

Though we have a small collection of Christmas books, we have been wanting to grow it. This year I have been very purposeful to check out recommended books from the library and then note the ones we really like to try to get them throughout the year. I've really liked the Jonathan Toomey book so far! I also really like The Crippled Lamb. I'll have to check this one out too!

Thanks for the review!

Honestly I don't have a specific children's book that I love at Christmas. I love the Christmas story from the bible and a few other special adult books, but this would be a great thing for my babies! And we do always read 'Twas the Night before Christmas, but I don't think of that as a favorite Christmas book for some reason...

Ruth Bell Graham was a mentor to me via her books when I was a young mama. I would love a copy of this book to read to my grand babies. I will never forget my mama reading The Little Match Girl to us and crying at the sadness of the story as she read.

We love reading the original Christmas story in the book of Luke- we don't really have any other stories that we traditionally read but we do enjoy reading about all the Christmases in the Little House Books and in Ralph Moody's books.

We found a new favorite this year: Why Christmas Trees aren't perfect. My kids ask to read this one over and over again.
